Frameless Light Guide Panels

Ultra-thin finished luminous panels built with an opal face, patterned PMMA, concealed edge LEDs, and a taped or protected profile developed around the installation drawing.

Frameless Finished System

A clean luminous face with the optical and electrical stack concealed at the edge.

The frameless series combines the light guide plate with an opal face, reflective rear layer, edge LED, and a taped or concealed aluminum edge. The visible surface remains simple while the structure is tailored to the final size, support, wiring, and installation.

It is designed for signage, furniture, integrated displays, luminous walls, retail fixtures, and custom OEM products where a thin, continuous illuminated face is required.

Typical Construction

A project-sized optical stack with concealed edge lighting.

This original FH drawing preserves the two production methods: a taped edge without a visible profile, or the same optical stack protected by a concealed aluminum profile. The layer order and component functions remain unchanged from the manufacturing reference.

Engineering Baseline

Values below are the FH engineering baseline. The approved drawing and quotation define the final build.

Panel & Optical Structure
Manufacturing Technology Laser-dot, engraved-line, laser-engraved, screen-printed, or UV-printed optical pattern selected by size, uniformity, volume, and budget.
Pattern Capacity Laser-dot panels up to 1500 mm wide; screen-printed panels up to 1200 x 2400 mm. Other processes require drawing review.
PMMA Panel Thickness 4-8 mm typical for this frameless construction; 3-10 mm options can be reviewed for other panel structures.
Finished Assembly Depth Approximately 16-50 mm according to the opal face, support, profile, mounting, and project load.
Finished Size Custom to drawing. Large or transport-sensitive surfaces can be divided into aligned, serviceable modules.
Overall Finish Frameless, concealed aluminum channel, crystal edge, taped edge, or protected rear profile as required.
Light Entry One, two, or four edges, selected from optical span, panel shape, target uniformity, and thermal load.
Optical Span Guidance Best results are normally developed within a 1000 mm guide span. Spans above approximately 300 mm, and square or near-square panels, may require four-edge input after sample review.
Diffusion Layer Optional opal film, diffuser sheet, or approved translucent face material.
Reflection Layer Optional 0.25-0.40 mm high-reflectance sheet or project-selected protected rear panel.
Mounting Mounting profile, support points, and installation hardware are developed from the project drawing and included only when itemized.
Light & Electrical
Light Effect 2800K-7500K white, tunable white, RGB, or RGBW. CRI above 85 is the standard reference; higher-CRI packages are available by review.
Input Voltage 12V or 24V DC. Larger panels generally use 24V; the power supply, controller, and cable rating are sized to the finished LED load.
LED Strip Reference Approximately 12 W/m and up to approximately 1400 lm/m at source-strip level, subject to the selected LED package. Finished panel luminance is confirmed by sample.
Dimming & Control PWM, DALI, or DMX control can be integrated through a compatible driver or controller selected for the approved LED configuration.
Cable Exit & Connector Exit position, lead length, connector type, and control interface are customized to the installation drawing.
Operating Environment Indoor use is standard. The operating range is confirmed for the selected LED, driver, sealing, and thermal system.
Protected Electrical Option Protected LED strips, sealed connectors, controlled cable exits, and a suitable driver enclosure can be specified for damp locations.
Design Life Basis Project-specific. The quotation identifies the selected LED and driver basis, duty cycle, and thermal conditions used for the design-life reference.
Production & Delivery
Sample Production Normally 7-15 production days after drawing and specification confirmation. Logistics transit time is not included.
Bulk Production Lead time is confirmed after sample approval according to structure, quantity, material availability, and packing requirements.
Shipping & Freight Courier, air, sea, or a nominated forwarder can be selected. Freight is excluded unless itemized in the quotation.

Final performance depends on panel geometry, viewing distance, LED selection, thermal management, installation, and the approved sample. Certification or compliance documentation is supplied only when specified and confirmed.

Yes. Panels can be produced in small-format sizes, large-format panels, or tiled systems for bigger illuminated surfaces.

What color temperatures are available?

Color temperature, single-color output, tunable white, RGB, and RGBW configurations are selected around the customer brief and the required LED system.

What information is needed for a quote?

Panel size, quantity, application, desired light effect, material preference, installation method, environmental exposure, and frameless requirements are the most useful starting points.

Where are light guide panels commonly used?
