Patterned PMMA light guide panel illuminated from its edge

LGP Components

Custom LGP / Light Guide Plates

Patterned PMMA light guide plates made in Shanghai for integration into your lighting system. For a processed, finished panel, choose Frameless.

FAQ

Key details buyers usually confirm first.

What is supplied as an LGP component?

A bare LGP is a patterned PMMA light guide plate. LEDs, diffuser, reflector, wiring and power supply are included only when itemized in the quotation.

How does an LGP differ from a Frameless panel?

The LGP redirects light from an external LED source. A Frameless panel combines that plate with the face, edge lighting, backing and wiring as a finished illuminated assembly.

What limits apply to a custom LGP?

Custom sizes are reviewed against PMMA thickness, optical pattern, LED entry and handling requirements. The stated maximum size is not available for every combination; larger surfaces may need multiple panels.

What information is needed for a quote?

Send the plate dimensions, quantity, application, preferred PMMA thickness, LED entry edges and installation conditions. State whether you need the patterned plate only or a finished illuminated assembly; a drawing helps confirm cutouts and cable routes.

Custom LGP Manufacturing

LGP specifications at a glance

The LGP is a passive optical component. The dimensions below describe the PMMA plate; electrical values apply only to a separately selected LED system.

Supply Scope
Patterned PMMA light guide plate
PMMA Panel Thickness
3–10 mm, subject to drawing review
LED Assembly Options
12 V or 24 V DC applies to the selected LED system, not the bare LGP.
Pattern Capacity
Process-dependent; see the limits below
Maximum Panel Size
Up to 3000 × 2000 mm, subject to process and optical review
Sample Production
7–15 production days after specification approval

Dimensions, optical span, pattern process, and assembly depth must be reviewed together. Maximum values are not interchangeable across every configuration.

The quotation identifies whether LEDs, diffuser, reflector, power supply, wiring, and packing are included. Freight and transit time are separate from sample production.

Process limits for drawing review

Screen printingUp to 1200 × 2400 mm
Other sizes and methodsDrawing and optical review required; maximum values do not apply to every process.

Light Entry & LED Options

Light entry & control

One-edge, two-edge, or four-edge input is selected from the optical span, aspect ratio, target uniformity, LED load, and thermal requirements.

Light Entry Layout

LED integration for the light guide plate

Short spans can be evaluated with one-edge input. Longer rectangular panels generally use two opposing edges, while large or near-square panels are reviewed for four-edge input and balanced thermal loading.

Engineering reference only. Final LED position, strip specification, power, and heat dissipation are confirmed from the approved panel drawing and sample.
LED Strip & Control

Light output, control, and entry are matched as one system.

These are integration requirements for the customer's lighting system, not electrical features included with a bare plate. Any supplied LED parts must be itemized.

Panel Family

Related finished panels

Light guide panels are the optical platform. Frameless panels are one finished construction made from that platform, while installation-ready, custom-shape, and tunable-white systems answer different project needs.

Panel Formats

Shapes & formats

Format names describe geometry and installation, not separate optical products. The final build is selected after reviewing the panel span, bend requirement, LED entry direction, luminous finish, and support structure.

Size, thickness, LED entry, and mounting
02

Linear Light Guide

Long, narrow light guide sections for coves, shelves, counters, corridors, and continuous features.

Best for
Long runs with a controlled luminous width
Confirm
Run length, joints, feed direction, and support
03

Flexible or Curved Light Sheet

Thin curved formats reviewed around the material, allowable bend, brightness target, and installation surface.

Best for
Curved features and shallow-profile surfaces
Confirm
Bend radius, curve direction, span, and fixing method
04

Custom Geometry

Round, oval, polygonal, organic, or joined panels developed from approved project drawings.

Best for
Project-specific outlines and modular surfaces
Confirm

Environmental Protection

Waterproofing is configured at the LED system level. For damp or semi-outdoor locations, FH selects a protected LED strip, sealed connectors, controlled cable entry, and a suitable driver enclosure. Final protection is confirmed for the complete electrical assembly and installation conditions.

Custom Process

A practical path from concept to production.

01

Project brief

Share drawings, size, quantity, LED color, installation position, and environmental requirements.

02

Optical proposal

Material, light guide structure, LED strip selection, and diffusion layer are matched to the brief.

03

Sample testing

Brightness, uniformity, edge detail, color temperature, and assembly are checked during the 7-15 day sample production stage.

04
